The seventh edition of the Audi quattro Cup in Malaysia saw Audi owners and avid golfers unite for a round of golf and a greater good at The Mines Resort & Golf Club; raising over RM135,000 for men’s health issues.
The Audi quattro Cup, held at The Mines Resort and Golf Club, saw the Audi quattro Cup Malaysia Finals 2017 exclusively for Audi vehicle owners on November 2, joined for the first time by the Audi quattro Cup – Drive Day, open to all golfers on November 4 and 5.
Combining one of the most renowned golf courses in Southeast Asia with the luxurious experience that Audi owners have come to expect, and the only tournament in Malaysia to offer a total of four Audi vehicles as hole-in-one prizes. The seventh edition of the Audi quattro Cup Malaysia Finals on November 2 saw a total of 120 Audi vehicle owners engage in a showcase of precision, strength and focus, along with a small measure of good fortune.
Despite the wet start to the tournament, amateur golfers Jeremy Lim and Kenneth Lim claimed victory with a total of 49 points in the Greensome Stableford format.
With a commanding performance on the fairways, this winning pair won a selection of prizes including TaylorMade M2 drivers and golf bags, golfing wear from Hugo Boss, as well as an all-expenses paid trip for both of them to Mexico to participate in the Audi quattro Cup World Finals at the acclaimed Quivira Golf Club, Los Cabos from December 1-5 2017!
Participants certainly did not go home empty-handed as Audi Malaysia assembled an array of lucrative novelty and lucky draw prizes from Audi as well as event sponsors including, Maybank, Breitling, Leica, Qatar Airways, TaylorMade, Hugo Boss, Kiehl’s and St. Regis Langkawi.
The highlight of the lucky draw prizes was two Audi R8 Drive Experiences, won by Datin Evelyn Teoh as well as Selvan Subramaniam. Starting with a flight on Qatar Airways to the home of Audi in Ingolstadt in Germany, was to find out more about the brand with the four rings, as well as spend a day at the Audi Driving Experience Centre track behind the steering wheel of the legendary Audi R8 V10 plus supercar. This was certainly a fantastic way for Audi owners to get to know and experience the brand with the four rings!
Speaking during the finals, Sridheevan (Dave) Sivanantham, Sales Director of Audi Malaysia was thrilled with results, saying “This year’s Audi quattro Cup has seen both precise and powerful play, coupled with immaculate sportsmanship and I am personally very happy to see the level of competition improve every year. I would now like to wish the two Malaysian representatives the absolute best in Los Cabos, Mexico, and I am sure they will do us proud.”
Speaking after the prize presentation ceremony, Jeremy Lim, one-half of this year’s winning pair, said: “We have participated in the Audi quattro Cup for seven years in a row, supporting the Malaysian chapter of this celebrated tournament since Day 1. Unfortunately, we’ve never won one of the main prizes, despite coming close twice. However, it seems that everything fell in place today and we are really glad we persevered. It’s really an amazing feeling to win and we look forward to upping our game in Mexico.”
The Audi quattro Cup – Drive Day, held over the weekend, represented a familiar feeling for Audi owners and a fitting introduction to Audi hospitality for tournament first timers.
On 4 November, the dynamic duo of Fathil Sulaiman and Nor Haslina Md Dahar managed to pull ahead of the pack with 40 Stableford points (on countback), whilst the power pairing of Abdussamad Haji Abdul Razak and Mohd Amin Abdul Sukor took the top prize home on 5 November. For their efforts, all four winners received a TaylorMade custom golf bag, a TaylorMade M2 Driver, a Hugo Boss leather bag and Qatar Airways return tickets to European destinations.
Playing on the synergy between the pre-dominantly male sport of golf and men’s health issues, this year’s Audi quattro Cup also saw the donation of all tournament participation fees to the Audi #derSchnurrbart movement.
Started by Audi Malaysia in partnership with MAKNA, #derSchnurrbart which means “the Moustache” in German aims to raise awareness and funds to address men’s health issues by encouraging men to grow out their facial hair for the month of November, with Audi Malaysia donating RM 50 to the fund for every Malaysian man who snaps a picture of his facial hair and posts it up on social media tagging @ AudiMalaysia and #derSchnurrbart as a sign of solidarity to the cause.
With RM380 contributed by each of the 360 participants of Audi quattro Cup 2017, a total of RM 136,800 has already been raised, ensuring a strong start for this worthy cause.

Continuing the drive theme, November 4 and 5 also saw the commencement of the Audi Drive Weekend on the grounds of the Mines Resort and Golf Club. In addition to being able to test drive Audi’s dynamic range of vehicles, this exhilarating brand experience stayed true to the Audi ethos of being sporty, progressive and sophisticated with a selection of physical challenges to test the limits of participant’s strength and endurance at the Audi Performance Park, fun and wholesome activities such as bubble adventures for the kids, creative pottery for the artistically-inclined and the #derSchnurrbart Detailer which gave a complimentary last shave (for the month of November) to men who pledged their commitment to the cause.
